Dee Waldo, 94, of Adel died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at the Golden Retreat Personal Care Home in Sparks. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Antioch United Methodist Church in Adel. In keeping with Mrs. Waldo’s wishes, she was cremated, and her ashes will be carried to Wisconsin at a later date for a family service. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Coleman of Adel and Gary Coleman of Manchester, Tenn.; two daughters, Anita Bacon of Stevens Point, Wis. and Annette Martinez of San Pedro, Calif.; and a sister, Dallis Faye Newlun of Madison, Wis. Boone Funeral Home is serving the Waldo family.
Matthew Robert “Bob” Lindsey, 87, of Hahira died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Money Cemetery in Cook County with full military honors. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home, located at 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife, Lois “Jo” Yancey Lindsey of Hahira; three sons, Robert “Butch” Lindsey of LaGrange, James Perry Lindsey of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Jonathan Lee Lindsey of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Mary L. Lindsey of Hahira; and a sister, Jennie Kate Blackmon of Abilene, Tx. Boone Funeral Home is serving the Lindsey family.

Downtown Farmer's Market opens Saturday

Tiftarea-Tattnall split
The quarterfinals series between the Tiftarea Academy Panthers and defending state Class AAA champions Tattnall Square Trojans matched up two of the top teams in the state and after two games, the battle has been a stalemate. The Trojans won the first game 4-1, while the Panthers took game two, 6-3. Game three will be today at 2 p.m.
