TIFTON —
The Tifton Bass Busters held their October tournament at Lake Eufaula Saturday.
Wayne Morgan won the event with a five-fish limit weighing 10.97 pounds and Gary Courtoy was a close second with 10.44 pounds, Courtoy also brought five fish to the scales.
James Parrish bagged enough fish to win the contest, but was penalized three pounds for late arrival to the weigh in. He still took third place with 8.39 pounds and he also had the largest fish of contest, a 4.46 pound largemouth.
The club will finish the 2012 season at Lake Blackshear in November.

County millage rate remains same
Tift County Commissioners voted unanimously in a called meeting Tuesday to keep the millage rate set at 12.183 for both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

The southern half of the 1962 Class AA girls state hoops tournament was played in Fitzgerald, despite Fitzgerald having dropped their girls program in 1957.

I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
