OCILLA —
Eloise Youghn, 82, of Ocilla, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Irwin County, with the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 this evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Youghn was born Nov. 23, 1929 in Berrien County, to the late Elmer Leroy Walker and Rosa Cleo Paulk Walker. She was a 1947 graduate of Alapaha High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, fishing and bird watching. Mrs. Youghn was a wonderful cook who shared her talent with friends and family. A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, she was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Youghn is survived by her husband of 63 years, Adolphus “Doc” Youghn of Ocilla; daughters, Wanda Youghn (and James) Hankla of Waycross and Brenda Youghn of Ocilla; sons, Jerry Youghn of Ocilla, Eddie Adolphus (and Andrea) Youghn of Baxley and Scott (and Wesley Johnson) Youghn of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren: Casey Craig Youghn, April Wright, Ryan W. Hankla, Jeremy Benjamin Clark and Brooke Anna Youghn; two sisters: Janie Walker (and Clyde) Barnhill of Winter Haven, Fla., and Joann Walker (and Ronald) Warren of Eagle Lake, Fla.; brother-in-law: Henry Derreberry of Eagle Lake, Fla.; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Leroy Walker, and a sister, Shirley Walker Derreberry.
