Death notices for March 19

John Brady, 76, of Sparks died  March 17, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sparks United Methodist Church. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Sparks Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Purvis Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Becton Brady of Sparks; a son, Scott Brady of Stafford, Va.; a daughter, Robin Bryan of Lenox; a brother, Richard Brady of Nashville; and a sister, Mary Odom of Adel. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.purvisfh.com. Purvis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



A memorial service for Margaret Fuller Thomas, 88, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Tifton, who died at her home, was held March 15, 2013 at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel in Boise, Idaho. She is survived by three sons, Andrew C. Thomas of Caldwell, Idaho, John E. Thomas and Christopher F. Thomas of Boise, Idaho.



Juanita Aylor Cox, 84, of Tifton died March 14, 2013 at Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center in Lakeland. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Beginnings Worship Center in Enigma with burial to be held at a later date in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday immediately following the service at New Beginnings Worship Center in Enigma. Complete obituary information will be provided later. The Minnesota Vikings qualified for the NFL playoffs Sunday with a 37-34 win over the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings will have a rematch with the Packers at 8 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the postseason Saturday in Green Bay. The game will be broadcast on WALB and NBC. It will be the first NFL playoff game for Tifton native Larry Dean (51), who leads the special teams for the Vikings.
