Turner County keeps playoff hopes alive

TIFTON — The Turner County Rebels kept their playoff hopes alive Friday night with a 30-20 win over visiting Clinch County.

Turner entered the night ranked 18th in the state’s power rankings, while the Panthers of Clinch County were 14th. To qualify for the state playoffs, a team must finish in the top 16 of the power rankings.

Kendall Kicklighter led the Rebels on the night with 44 yards receiving, 30 yards rushing and 14 total tackles on defense.

Luke Soliday went over 1,000 yards rushing on the season with 80 yards rushing. He also had 260 yards passing.

Turner had 414 yards of total offense in the game.

The Rebels will learn their fate Tuesday when the final power rankings of the regular season are released.
