George Britt Faircloth Sr.

TIFTON —  Mr. George Britt Faircloth Sr., 82, of Tifton died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday inthe Chapel of Albritton- Beaumont Funeral Directors with Dr. Fred Evers and the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Burial  with military honors will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Albritton–Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers will be Matthew White, Jeff Faircloth, Ken Faircloth, Dave Nehring, Michael Pannell, Billy Ray, Eddie Sklany and Paul Shirah. The Northside Baptist Church Senior Adult Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Faircloth was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Crisp County to Norman S. Faircloth and Myrtle Waldrip Faircloth, both deceased. Mr. Faircloth was known for his very generous nature and the fact that he always made time for his friends and family. He loved to fish and spend time outdoors. Mr. Faircloth was a member of Northside Baptist Church for the past 43 years. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family and especially his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He served his country during the Korean conflict with the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sims Faircloth, to whom he was married for the past 55 years; two daughters and sons-in–law, Theresa and Allen White of Blakely and Linda and Randy Clements of Tifton; one son and daughter –in-law, George B. Faircloth Jr. and Janet ofCordele; grandchildren, Amanda White, Brittany Faircloth, Tom and Laura Pritchett, Jesse and Emily Pritchett and Matthew White; five sisters, Bessie Cantrell of Atlanta, Hazel Coker of Cleveland, Dell Hughes of Cordele, Ina Faircloth of Atlanta and Joyce Harrell of Camilla; sister-in-law, Ferol Faircloth of Weewahitchka, Fla; and two great-grandchildren, Thomas Pritchett III and Analee Pritchett; many nieces  and nephews; and special friends Tommy and Ezelle Ray, Bill Moyer, Lynwood and JoAnn Denham, Ray and Annette Parsons and Tommy Pritchett.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Meals on Wheels P.O. Box 2053, Tifton, GA  31793, or Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 4605 Murray Ave., Tifton, GA  31794.
