TIFTON —
The Turner County Rebels were able to cruise to easy wins in a pair of games against the Telfair County Trojans Tuesday night in McRae.
The Lady Rebels saw heir record increase to 10-3 and a perfect 6-0 in Region 2-A after they thrashed their opponents, 71-21.
It was 19-3 after the first and Turner put up 17 points in the second as the Lady Trojans were shut out in the quarter.
Turner did not ease up in the second half, outscoring their opposition, 35-18, to close out the 71-21 win.
Zenia Coley personally outscored Telfair, putting up 25 points. She was joined in double figures by Antania Graddic (14) and Mylashia Yancey (11).
The Rebels had their opponents doubled at halftime, 34-17. They increased the margin to 53-33 after three and then outscored the Trojans 23-12 in the fourth quarter to win 76-45.
Antonio Graddic led Turner with 20. Shaq Baldwin added 13 and Jackquise Moore had 11.
The Rebels take the hardwood again Friday when they travel to Statenville to play the Echols County Wildcats at 6 p.m.
In the Class A public school power rankings released Tuesday, Turner County is ranked as the No. 4 girls team and No. 8 boys squad.
Fellow Region 2-A school Irwin County is listed at No. 7 in girls rankings.

Leaving aside the seriousness of lawlessness, and the corruption of our civic culture by the professionally pious, this past week has been amusing. There was the spectacle of advocates of an ever-larger regulatory government expressing shock about such government's large capacity for misbehavior. And, entertainingly, the answer to the question "Will Barack Obama's scandals derail his second-term agenda?" was a question: What agenda?
