Miss Rhonda Green

TIFTON — Miss Rhonda Maxine Green, 56, of Tifton died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 in Tift County. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the First Assembly of God with the Rev. John Thomas and the Rev. Corey Shiver officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

The family received  friends Thursday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers will be Milton Thompson, Tye Cottle, Michael Brooks, Lee Bryan, Bryan Thompson, Blake Thompson, John Michael Brooks and Reid Cottle.

Honorary pallbearers will be the children and their families that Miss Rhonda has served as their babysitter or nanny over the past decades.

Born on June 17, 1956 in Fort Oglethorpe to the late William Wilfrey Green and Willie B. Alexander Green, Miss Green had worked at J.P. Stevens, B and B Vendors and Marcia’s Daycare, as well as, served as a babysitter and nanny to several generations of relatives and friends.  As an aunt and “mother” to many children, Rhonda will always be remembered for her positive attitude, her smile, her inability to tell kids “no,” and her immense love for her family and all children.  Rhonda truly loved the Lord and was a member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God, where she kept the nursery and was involved in the Women’s Ministry.  She loved sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and the Alabama Crimson Tide.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Green Sr., and a brother-in-law, Y.L. “Junior” Bryan.

Survivors include:  two sisters and one brother-in-law, Rita and Lamar Brooks of Tifton and Ramona Bryan of Ringgold, formerly of Tifton; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Jimmy C. and Marie Green of Summerville and Alma Jo Green of Arab, Ala.; her nieces and nephews, Susan and Milton Thompson, Maria and Tye Cottle, Michael and Amy Brooks, Lee and Kerry Bryan, and Ted Green Jr. and Cynthia Green; Lynn and Danny McGraw, Tina and Lawayne McNeese, Tamara and Billy Jackson, Tim and LeAnn Green, Tawana Vickers and Denise and Ron DeBaugh; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Bryan Thompson, Blake Thompson, Brooke Cottle, John Michael Brooks, Reid Cottle, Julie Ann Brooks, Payton Bryan and McKenzie Bryan.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Women's Ministry at First Assembly of God, 1800 N. Central Ave., Tifton, Ga. 31794.
