Local law enforcement officials stay busy over the weekend

TIFTON — Local law enforcement agencies responded to several incidents over the weekend, including an aggravated assault, stalking, burglaries, vehicle break-ins and other incidents.

According to an incident report filed at the Tift County Sheriff’s Office, a man reported Friday night that someone fired several rounds at him while driving his vehicle on Sherri Lane.

In another matter, a woman was arrested Friday after allegedly stalking a local man. According to an incident report filed at the Tifton Police Department, the man had been receiving unwanted contact since June 1, 2012 from the offender.

The man reported that the incident started when he received a Facebook message from the offender wanting to meet him. He noted that she saw him at a local gym, where they are both members. The man reported that he had informed the offender that they were only friends. This led to the offender continuously stalking him from June 2012 to December 2012 via Facebook and by walking by his house, leaving things at his door, sending him notes, etc., according to the report.

The report states that Sandra Lee Langford, 47, 2004 N. Ridge Ave., was arrested Friday and charged with stalking.

Also, a woman who lives in the 1400 block of North Central Avenue reported Sunday that while walking around her house after returning home from work, she discovered that someone had attempted to pry open a window on the north end of her house. The report states that entry was not gained and only a screen was damaged during the attempt. It also states that there appeared to have been some type of badly smudged shoe prints on the air conditioning unit below the window that had been damaged.

In other unrelated cases:

• A man and woman reported Sunday that someone broke into their trucks parked at their residence in the 1600 block of Deer Run Road. They reported that money located inside the vehicles was stolen. A purse containing valuable items was also stolen from one of the vehicles. The report states that both vehicles were not locked.

• An employee with BB’s Automotive Repair on West Third Street reported Saturday that when he arrived at work, he noticed that a vehicle’s front passenger side window was broken. The vehicle’s JVC radio was taken.
