NASHVILLE —
Billy Joe Harper, 50, of Nashville, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott King officiating. Interment will follow at Guthrie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
He was born Sept. 16, 1961 in Hahira to the late Charles Lucious Harper and Sally Brogdon. He was an iron worker.
He is survived by his wife, Constance Jean Gaiser "Connie" Harper of Nashville; two daughters, Jennifer (Adam) Cole of Larrimore, N.D., and Dana (Cody) Hodge of Nashville; stepdaughter, Sara Virginia Luke of Grayson; four grandchildren, Zoey, Emily and Dillon Hodge, Zaniel Cole; his mother, Sally Harper of Nashville; three brothers, Carl Harper of Thomasville, Mike (JanAnn) Harper of Nashville, and Dale (Lisa) Harper of Nashville; a sister, Donna (Scott) King of Nashville; three nieces and five nephews.
Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville is in charge of arrangements.

The Minnesota Vikings qualified for the NFL playoffs Sunday with a 37-34 win over the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings will have a rematch with the Packers at 8 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the postseason Saturday in Green Bay. The game will be broadcast on WALB and NBC. It will be the first NFL playoff game for Tifton native Larry Dean (51), who leads the special teams for the Vikings.
