The Rev. Jesse Allen Hathaway, 71, of Tifton died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later. Marshall McCully, 93, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Community Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Grace Lyon Payne, 91, of Tifton died at Southern Care Assisted Living Facility on Dec. 5, 2012. Leaving aside the seriousness of lawlessness, and the corruption of our civic culture by the professionally pious, this past week has been amusing. There was the spectacle of advocates of an ever-larger regulatory government expressing shock about such government's large capacity for misbehavior. And, entertainingly, the answer to the question "Will Barack Obama's scandals derail his second-term agenda?" was a question: What agenda?
