Panthers pop Southland, both squads play today

TIFTON — The Tiftarea Panthers won, 42-30, over the Southland Academy Golden Raiders Tuesday to advance in the 1-AAA region tournament.

Sam Tucker led the Panthers with 17 points and had four steals and four rebounds. Rob Flick added 11 points, four steals and five rebounds and Ethan Mims scored eight with five steals and six rebounds. Nathan Carswell had a big night on the boards, grabbing 15 rebounds.

 The Panthers will next play Deerfield-Windsor today in a game scheduled for 8:30 p.m.. The Lady Panthers will also play today, taking on Brookwood School at 4 p.m. Both games will be played at Darton College.
