Participants in the “Bottles and Brushes” session on Feb. 21 will paint “Tobacco Barn”, created by local artist and class instructor Brenda Rose. The class will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
“Bottles and Brushes is a unique experience,” said Polly Huff, GMA Gallery Coordinator. “Participants get to create one-of-a-kind art in a relaxed setting while getting pointers from an expert.”
Rose will guide participants through the process of recreating her original work, while students create their own interpretation before their eyes. Participants can bring their favorite beverage while enjoying an evening of creativity and fun. The Gallery at the Museum will provide the paint, canvas and brushes.
There is a fee of $25 per person for the class or $40 for a couple. Participants must register ahead of time by contacting Huff at (229) 391-5222 or by emailing her at phuff@abac.edu. Space is limited so early registration is important.
Companies who are looking for a unique team-building experience or a way to reward exceptional employees can participate in the corporate edition of “Bottles and Brushes”. The corporate painting will be custom-tailored to fit each company’s mascot, theme, or idea.
Gift certificates are available for future classes.

TCHS seniors named 2013 Georgia Scholars
Tift County High School seniors Amy Chainani and Sara Johnson, pictured left to right, have been honored as 2013 Georgia Scholars by the Georgia Department of Education.
Two Tift County High School seniors have been honored as 2013 Georgia Scholars by the Georgia Department of Education. Masoom (Amy) Chainani and Sara Johnson. They are among only 115 seniors in the entire state who have qualified for this honor, which has extremely strict criteria.

Tiftarea-Tattnall split
The quarterfinals series between the Tiftarea Academy Panthers and defending state Class AAA champions Tattnall Square Trojans matched up two of the top teams in the state and after two games, the battle has been a stalemate. The Trojans won the first game 4-1, while the Panthers took game two, 6-3. Game three will be today at 2 p.m.
