TIFTON —
Jessie Aaron Dotson, 87, of Tifton died Friday, March 15, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Tifton First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Ike Branch will officiate with burial to follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of the service today at Tifton First Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Dotson was born May 18, 1925 in Fayette County, Ala. and was the son of James Dotson and Fannie Hyde Dotson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eddie Mae Wyers Dotson; a son, Bobby Dotson; four brothers; and three sisters. He was retired from Tifton Aluminum and was a member of Tifton First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Dotson was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II.
Mr. Dotson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debbie Dotson of Tifton; two daughters, Martha Dotson and Pam Dotson, both of Tifton; three grandchildren, Suzanne Hyde, Chris Dotson and Chad Dotson; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special friend who was like a daughter to him and a sister to the family, Leslie Hunter.

Tattnall Square tops Tiftarea, 6-2
Ernie Banks used to say, "let's play two." In a game that was as long as two and was defined early on by errors and later by a pitching duel, it would be offense that propelled the Tattnall Square Trojans past the Tiftarea Academy Panthers, 6-2 in 14 innings. Tattnall, who won the first game of the series, 4-1 before dropping game two, 6-3, will meet Mount de Sales in the Class AAA semifinals next week.
