TIFTON —
A local author, who now resides in Barney, is inviting the community to attend her book signing event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Lion Chasers Christian Bookstore, located at 118 Second St. East, for the release of her religious and inspirational novel, “Lady in Waiting: For the Promises of God.”
Teresa Hiers said the book was officially pre-released in October 2011 and will officially be released on Valentine’s Day. At the book signing event, she said, people can bring their copy of the book to be signed and there will also be copies available for purchase.
“It would be an honor to sign it,” Hiers stated.
“Lady in Waiting” was published by Tate Publishing & Enterprises, LLC, which can be purchased from their website at http://www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore/book.php?w=9781613469125. The book can also be purchased at Lion Chasers.

Hiers, who lived in Tifton for approximately 25 years, has been residing in Barney, which is a small town located 10 miles out of Adel, for a little over seven years now. She is married to Tom. She advised that they raised their two daughters and son in Tifton.
Hiers said through prayer, scripture and life experiences, she wrote “Lady in Waiting.” She stated, “God flooded my spirit with scripture.”
In her foreword at the beginning of the book, Hiers writes, “Several years ago, I felt in my spirit that, one day, I would like to write a book. It actually leaped out of my spirit during a work seminar when I was asked to name a future goal for my life. I blurted out, ‘I want to write a book!’ Well, as soon as I said it, I thought, ‘Where on earth did that come from?’
“I now feel it was not from earth, but from heaven! Thinking back, it seemed as if the Holy Spirit leaped within me.”
Hiers goes on to state that due to over six years of sickness, she had to quit her job. She writes, “Please understand, God did not cause this infirmity to come upon me; but I do believe He allowed it for such a time as this.”
Hiers explains that during this time home, she embraced God’s call for her to write a book, giving birth to “Lady in Waiting.”
In her introduction, Hiers adds that the cover of the book was inspired by Sharon Treadaway through a vision she had concerning her during a very difficult time in her life. It reads, “She saw me laughing and dancing in a field of yellow flowers with the wind blowing through my hair. I was adorned in a long, white dress. In the vision, there was a sense of me telling Satan, ‘Look at me now!’ All the while, I was laughing and dancing with hands raised, giving praise to God.”
In her own words, Hiers explained that “Lady in Waiting” is “a book of ministry for women and teenage girls from all walks of life, especially those who are hurting. It speaks about forgiveness, relationships, abortion and other very sensitive issues. Each chapter is coupled with a section called ‘Questions for Reflection,’ so that readers may evaluate how the chapter relates to issues in their own lives, which brings forth healing.”
