TIFTON —
The Tiftarea Academy Panthers made it a four-game sweep last night in Chula when they took the measure of the Fullington Academy Trojans in a full night of hoops.
The Lady Panthers saw their record increase to 6-8 after blasting the Lady Trojans, 43-18. Jarrett McWhorter led the way with 11 points and seven rebounds and Neeli Fortson added eight points, four assists and four steals. MacKenzie McWhorter also had seven rebounds.
The boys won their contest, 45-33. Trent Hobbs was tops with 11 points. Austin Stripling and Ethan Mims each added nine. Nathan Carswell had 13 rebounds and Rob Flick contributed 10 steals and seven assists. The Panthers are now 4-5.
In B-team action, the girls defeated Fullington, 24-17, to improve to 2-1. Madi Smith scored six. The junior varsity Panthers won, 4129. Stripling led with 15, Levi Moore had eight and Josh Hancock had eight. They are now 3-1.
Tiftarea next sees action on Tuesday when they travel to Macon to take on Tattnall Square. The B girls tip off at 4 p.m.

The Minnesota Vikings qualified for the NFL playoffs Sunday with a 37-34 win over the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings will have a rematch with the Packers at 8 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the postseason Saturday in Green Bay. The game will be broadcast on WALB and NBC. It will be the first NFL playoff game for Tifton native Larry Dean (51), who leads the special teams for the Vikings.
