Power outage in Tifton Tuesday

TIFTON — The lights went out in Tifton Tuesday evening, seriously affecting traffic and others at work. According to Lynn Lovett of Georgia Power, the power outage was due to failure of a breaker. "It was no bad car wreck or bad weather or anything, it was a breaker went out," said Lovett. "It affected 850 customers." The power went off at approximately 5:30 p.m. and stayed off for roughly 45 minutes. "We certainly apologize for any inconveience. We worked as fast as we could to get the power back on," said Lovett. Among the traffic lights affected was the one at the intersection of Tift Ave. and Second Street.
