LENOX —
Michael Timothy Chambers Sr., 56, of Lenox, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Graveside memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Metts Cemetery in Alapaha. Elder Tom Deal will officiate with burial to follow.
Mr. Chambers was born on Sept. 14, 1956 in Tift County and was the son of Richard Wiley Chambers and Alma C. Powell Chambers, both deceased. He was a self-employed contractor and a member of Tifton Primitive Baptist Church.
Mr. Chambers is survived by his significant other, Estelle Patterson of Lenox; one son, Michael Timothy Chambers Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Jimmy C. Chambers of Savannah; and two sisters, Donna Hutcheson of Savannah and Wanda Tuma of Midway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, Tift County Unit, P. O. Box 7514, Tifton, GA 31793.

The Minnesota Vikings qualified for the NFL playoffs Sunday with a 37-34 win over the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings will have a rematch with the Packers at 8 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the postseason Saturday in Green Bay. The game will be broadcast on WALB and NBC. It will be the first NFL playoff game for Tifton native Larry Dean (51), who leads the special teams for the Vikings.
