Courtney Whipple, 24, of Fitzgerald, formerly of Tifton, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 in Fitzgerald. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Holiness Church with burial to follow at Lenox Cemetery. A repast will conclude at the Neighbrohood Services Center. Mrs. Whipple is survived by her children, Cyniah Whipple, Cymorian Crockett and Cykobie Whipple; her parents, Regina (Charles) King and Randary (Forestine) Crockett, all of Tifton; a sister, Keiana Dowers; and brothers, Randary Crockett Jr., Javarie King, Javon King and Charles King III. Professional care and services are entrusted to Southview Mortuary, Inc.
Apostle Larry D. Camon Sr. of Lakeland, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Black and Son Funeral Home, Nashville.
Jerrie Ann Roberson, 62, of Tifton, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Complete obituary information will be provided later. Arrangements for the Roberson family are under the care and direction of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Tift County almost pulled off an incredible feat this year, having two teams in the baseball quarterfinals.. It was a great year for baseball at all area schools, all eight of them in the postseason. Both Kyle Kirk's Tift County Blue Devils and Brad Porter's Tiftarea Academy Panthers came within an eyelash of doing even better: the final four.
