Thieves enter cars in MTC body shop

MOULTRIE — Car batteries were the main targets in a Thursday night theft at the paint and body shop at Moultrie Technical College in which 15 vehicles were entered, Moultrie police said.

All of the cars entered were outdoors and there was no entry into the school, Moultrie Police Department Cpl. Freddie Williams said.

“We think they may have entered through one of the fences,” he said. “They actually took the fence off the hinge. They took the batteries out of the cars.”

As of Friday afternoon police had no suspects in the case. The total value of the stolen property also had not been determined at that time.

“We’re still investigating it,” Williams said.

Taken were nine batteries and four stereos.
