TIFTON —
The “Great Checkers Chase” is under way, with twice as much prize money as last year. The winner will get $1,000 and a weekly combo meal for a year.
“Once again, The Tifton Gazette is partnering with Checkers restaurant to bring readers this annual promotion,” said Circulation Director Rachel Wainwright. “Many area residents look forward to this chase.”
Beginning today, daily clues will be tucked within the Gazette’s classified advertising pages leading toward the location where a glass jar containing a Checkers flag is hidden. The lucky person who finds the hidden Checkers jar and flag will collect $1,000 and will also receive one free combo meal from the restaurant each week for a full year, which is a $250 value.
The Checkers restaurant jar and flag are hidden on public property in Tift County and finding it requires no climbing or digging. Employees and contract carriers for the Gazette are ineligible to win. Also not eligible is anyone who has won a Gazette contest in the past 12 months.
The Tifton Gazette and Checkers restaurant are not liable for any accidents or injuries sustained or associated with the Great Checkers Chase.
