James Marcus Leger

WOODSTOCK — James Marcus Leger, 77, of Woodstock passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 with his two sons by his side. A memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 21 at McDonald and Son Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors.

Born in Demascus, Mr. Leger was the son of the late Jay E. Leger and the late Myrneth Parrish Leger. His soul mate and beloved wife of 41 years, Ellen Patterson Leger, also preceded him in death. He had a wonderful intellect. He loved art, writing, the Atlanta Braves and was an avid jazz enthusiast. Those blessed to know him appreciated his keen sense of humor and quick wit. Engaging in political conversations and spending time with family were among his greatest joys.

Mr. Leger is survived by his son, Jay Leger and wife Jenni of Keller, Tx.; a son, Les Leger of Woodstock; a sister, Dorothy Leger Sutton of Ocilla; grandchildren, Logan Leger and Whitney Leger; numerous nieces, a nephew, a sister-in-law and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Romney/Ryan election fund, as Mr. Leger spent a lifetime campaigning for the Republican Party.

Condolences may be expressed online at www.mcdonaldandson.com.

Arrangements are being provided by McDonald and Son Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming.
