Lawrence "Larry" Love Gibbs, 90, of Cape Coral, Fla. died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Cape Coral Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with burial to follow in Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 6-8 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. You may offer condolences to the family at the online guest registry at www.bowen-donaldson.com. Rufus Harris Sr., 85, entered into rest on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mother Easter Baptist Church. The Rev. E.H. Hopkins will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Roger Mays and the Rev. Terrell Carter. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Crosland with the repast to be concluded at E.H. Hopkins Fellowship Hall. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louetta Tyson Harris of Crosland; two sons, Rufus Harris Jr. and James Harris, both of Crosland; three daughters, Mildred Lawson of Stone Mountain; Alice Lunsford of Norman Park; and Sandra Davis of Crosland; one sister, Fannie H. Brinson of Norman Park; and one brother, Alonzo Harris of Moultrie Final arrangements have been entrusted to Luke Strong And Son Mortuary, Ltd.

Ernie Banks used to say, "let's play two." In a game that was as long as two and was defined early on by errors and later by a pitching duel, it would be offense that propelled the Tattnall Square Trojans past the Tiftarea Academy Panthers, 6-2 in 14 innings. Tattnall, who won the first game of the series, 4-1 before dropping game two, 6-3, will meet Mount de Sales in the Class AAA semifinals next week.
