Billy Lee, 91, of Arabi died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at Heritage Health Care following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. He is survived by his wife, Shirlene McLeod Lee of Arabi; adaughter, Linda Taylor of Arabi; and two brothers, Jessie R. (Doc) Lee of Blakely and Wynton Lee of Sycamore. “Keep calm and stop the violence,” “Save our streets” and “No more violence” were the words echoed by Eighth Street Middle School students early Tuesday morning as they stood in front of the school behind caution tape and orange cones, shouting and holding up signs as they waved at passing motorists who smiled and returned the gesture.
