SYCAMORE —
Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Farmer Lane, 87, of Sycamore, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Sycamore Methodist Church. Mrs. Lane passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery in Turner Co.
Mrs. Lane was born in Sycamore to James Wesley and Emily Lyon Farmer and was retired from The Ashburn Bank where she worked for 38 years. She was a member of Sycamore Methodist Church, where she had served as Church Clerk and Treasurer for a long number of years. She was the widow of Thomas Bradley Lane.
Survivors include her daughter Judy L. Rodgers of Conyers.
The family will receive friends today from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the services at Sycamore Methodist Church.
For those who wish donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or their favorite charity.
Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn, is in charge of arrangements.

“Keep calm and stop the violence,” “Save our streets” and “No more violence” were the words echoed by Eighth Street Middle School students early Tuesday morning as they stood in front of the school behind caution tape and orange cones, shouting and holding up signs as they waved at passing motorists who smiled and returned the gesture.
