Jonathan “Jon” Glenn Price, 58, of Chula died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Larry Layfield officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.
Born on March 22, 1954 in Tifton to the late Walter Glenn Price and Mattie Mae Powell Price, Mr. Price had been an outdoor sign electrician and an outdoorsman’s guide in Alaska, where he loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Chula Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Matt Price, and an infant sister, Dixie Price.
Survivors include two brothers, Clay Price of Sycamore and Charlie Price of Portland, Ore.

County millage rate remains same
Tift County Commissioners voted unanimously in a called meeting Tuesday to keep the millage rate set at 12.183 for both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

Fields played, coached three eras of basketball
Imagine a player averaging 29 points per game for a career and receiving no college scholarship offers. That happened to Dona Fields.
Fields, as Dona Gaskins, is easily Berrien High's all-time leading scorer. She scored her 1,000th point as a sophomore and during her last three seasons was the Rebelettes' leading scorer in every game. She received no college attention, no offers. - Kilgore resigns baseball post at ABAC

I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
