TIFTON —
The Leroy Rogers Senior Center invites the public to a Community Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 5, at the Senior Center. Services such as health-related screenings, medical assistance and weight management are among the many offerings available. Over 30 vendors from local health-related businesses and agencies will be on-hand to answer questions at the fair.
A free lunch and learn will occur at 11:15 a.m. with Dr. Benjamin Hess and Dr. Kristin Gore from the Affinity Clinic on-hand for an “Ask the Doctor” segment. Free flu shots will be available to the first 20 guests with additional flu shots available for $20 (Medicare or Medicaid recipients are encouraged to bring their cards for claim filing assistance).
Plenty of free materials and door prizes will be offered. This event is sponsored by the City of Tifton, Tift Regional Medical Center and the YMCA. For more information, contact the Leroy Rogers Senior Center at 229-391-9299.

Leaving aside the seriousness of lawlessness, and the corruption of our civic culture by the professionally pious, this past week has been amusing. There was the spectacle of advocates of an ever-larger regulatory government expressing shock about such government's large capacity for misbehavior. And, entertainingly, the answer to the question "Will Barack Obama's scandals derail his second-term agenda?" was a question: What agenda?
