TIFTON — From the Georgia Department of Transportation:
As of 4:15 p.m. Wednesday:
Georgia DOT has reopened U.S. 82/S.R. 520 in Tift County, between the Tift County Fair Grounds and the City of Brookfield, to local residence only. Tractor trailers and all other motorists should follow the in place detour.
U.S. 82/S.R. 520 is still closed between Brookfield and Alapaha due to flooding at Paradise Lake.
Detour route is as follows;
· From Tifton; Take U.S. 319N/S.R. 35 from Tifton to Ocilla; then take U.S. 129S/S.R. 11 to Alapaha
· From Alapaha; Take U.S. 129S/S.R. 11 to Ocilla; then take U.S. 319N/S.R. 35 to Tifton.
