ALAPAHA —
Russell Baker Browne, 56, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 5:30 p.m. today at Fletcher Cemetery, Hwy 129, in Alapaha. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. today at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors.
Born in Tifton, Russ retired from Glidden Paints, and then returned last October as manager. Married for 31 years, he was a loving and devoted husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Willie Baker, Nellie Browne, and his parents, Louis and Billie Browne.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda C. Browne; two daughters, Laura Browne and Frances Browne; a sister, Thea (Charles) Aycock; three brothers, Lee Browne, Rick Browne, Lou (Joy) Browne and many nieces and nephews.
Those desiring may make memorials to Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church, 2200 Dawson Rd, Albany, GA 31707.

Tidal Wave takes third triumph at Georgia Games
The Tiftarea Tidal Wave improved to 3-0 with their victory June 15 at the Georgia Games. The team placed many swimmers in competition, including several first and second place finishers.

Southern problems...some folks got’em
I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
