ALAPAHA —
Wilson Lamar King, 67, of Alapaha, died Jan. 1, 2013 at South Georgia Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey and the Rev. Raymond Cason officiating. Interment will follow at Flat Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today.
He was born June 11, 1945 in Berrien County to the late Wilson King and the late Ruby Nell Nicholson. He was a farmer and a former Berrien County Deputy Sheriff. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of Nashville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lily Grace West.
He is survived by his wife: Rhonda Clifton King of Alapaha; three daughters: Robin (Greg) Clanton of Nashville; Dawn (Ran) West of Alapaha; Hope (Gary) Giddens of Alapaha; one sister: Mary Alice McGee of Alapaha; and six grandchildren: Hunter Clanton, Grady Giddens, Emma Giddens, Beau West, Katie Marie Giddens, and Bella West.
Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville is in charge of arrangements.

The Minnesota Vikings qualified for the NFL playoffs Sunday with a 37-34 win over the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings will have a rematch with the Packers at 8 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the postseason Saturday in Green Bay. The game will be broadcast on WALB and NBC. It will be the first NFL playoff game for Tifton native Larry Dean (51), who leads the special teams for the Vikings.
