James E. Bullard, 71, of Adel died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Crestwood Nursing Home in Valdosta. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home, located at 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. Boone Funeral Home is serving the Bullard family.
Ramona Robinson Lipsey, 80, of Adel died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Berrien Nursing Center following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Studstill officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, located at 202 N. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. She is survived by her two sons, Brian Lipsey of Oviedo, Fla. and Jerry “Randy” of Nashville; and a brother, Carlton Robinson of Ocala, Fla. Boone Funeral Home is serving the Lipsey family.
Lorene Bright Moore, 68, of Moultrie died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced by Southview Mortuary, Inc. Professional care and services are entrusted to Southview Mortuary, Inc., Moultrie Chapel.
Aaron Vernon Rogers Sr., 78, of Sycamore died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn D. Rogers of Sycamore; a son, Aaron V. Rogers Jr. of Mount Airy, Md.; and a daughter, Susan R. Feirick of Elkhart, Ind. Perry Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
James E. “Jim” Turner, 73, of Sylvester died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Damascus United Methodist Church with interment to follow at the church cemetery with full military honors. The Rev. Ronnie Howell will officiate. Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester is in charge of arrangements.

County millage rate remains same
Tift County Commissioners voted unanimously in a called meeting Tuesday to keep the millage rate set at 12.183 for both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
