NASHVILLE —
Jerry Lawton "Jocko" Griner, 67, died Jan. 10, 2013 at the Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Open Door Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary James and the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. at Lovein Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1946 to the late J.E. Clayton Griner and the late Mary Ruth Hodges in Atkinson County. He was a very devoted farmer and horseman. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Jackie Griner, Jimmy Griner and Renna Griner.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Saviluoto Griner of Nashville; three daughters: Kristie Terrell of Nashville, Reejeana (Keith) Purvis of Alapaha and Charleen (Michael) James of Adel; a son, Bobby (Sandy) Tuttle of Nashville; five grandchildren, Allison Terrell, Meagan Terrell, Katelyn Tuttle, Harley Tuttle and Kade Lawton Purvis.
In lieu of flowers make memorial contributions to the Open Door Baptist Church. Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville is in charge of arrangements.

The Minnesota Vikings qualified for the NFL playoffs Sunday with a 37-34 win over the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings will have a rematch with the Packers at 8 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the postseason Saturday in Green Bay. The game will be broadcast on WALB and NBC. It will be the first NFL playoff game for Tifton native Larry Dean (51), who leads the special teams for the Vikings.
