Ethel Clements Westbrook, 90, of Norman Park, died Thursday Jan. 31, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Moultrie with interment to follow at Paulk’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Banks Funeral Home. Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester is in charge of arrangements.
Cambre Murphy died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Beulah Hill Life Center, Elderado Road, Tifton. Burial will follow at Omega Memorial Cemetery in Omega. Lounell Bullard Johnson, 77, of Adel, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at Berrien County Hospital. funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Calvary Holiness Church. Interment will follow at Wilkes Cemetery located behind the church. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel. Mrs. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Karen Spires of Nashville and Sheila Maxwell of Albany. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com. Paul Wilkfork of Nashville died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at Berrien County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. James A.M.E. Church, Nashville. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday at Black and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Survivors include four brothers, Earl Willfork of Valdosta, as well as Silas Willfork, David Willfork and John Willfork, all of Nashville.Black and Son Funeral Home, Nashville is in charge of arrangements.

Tift County almost pulled off an incredible feat this year, having two teams in the baseball quarterfinals.. It was a great year for baseball at all area schools, all eight of them in the postseason. Both Kyle Kirk's Tift County Blue Devils and Brad Porter's Tiftarea Academy Panthers came within an eyelash of doing even better: the final four.
