The Tiftarea Academy basketball teams faced off against Sherwood Christian against in Albany.
The junior varsity Lady Panthers went to 9-0 on the year with a 31-16 win.
Leading scorers were Macy Strenth with eight and Caroline Mann with six.
In the junior varsity boys game, Tiftarea emerged with a 35-26 victory to improve to 3-6. Leading scorer were Logan Carswell with 14 and Josh Jones with six.
The B-team Lady Panthers ended up with a 36-36 tie.
Sherwood was inbounding the ball with four seconds left up by three points. Tiftarea stole the inbounds pass and called time out with 1.9 seconds left. We inbounded the ball to Erin Register on the right wing and she took one dribble and banked in a three to tie. Due to games running late, there was no overtime. The Lady Panthers ended the season 4-3-1. The leading scorers were Strenth with 13 and Erin Register with nine.
The B-team boys game was called at halftime due to time restraints with the Panthers trailing, 22-14. Nathan DuVall led Panther scorers with six.
The Lady Panthers varsity team won 49-33 to improve to 12-13, 5-1 in region. Rachel Thomason had 11 points. Other top performers were Jarrett McWhorter, seven points and eight rebounds; Neely Fortson, seven points and four assists; Caitlyn Albritton, seven points and six steals; and Ali Rippy, seven rebounds.
In the boys varsity game, Tiftarea fell, 58-36.
Ethan Mims led Panther scorers with 11 points. Sam Tucker and Trent Hobbs both had six points, and Rob Flick had 5 points.
The junior varsity and varsity teams will be in Americus Tuesday to face Southland.

The devices read your debit or credit card and record the number, which the thief can collect by retrieving the skimmer or even remotely using a smartphone and a wireless Internet connection. Fields played, coached three eras of basketball
Imagine a player averaging 29 points per game for a career and receiving no college scholarship offers. That happened to Dona Fields.
Fields, as Dona Gaskins, is easily Berrien High's all-time leading scorer. She scored her 1,000th point as a sophomore and during her last three seasons was the Rebelettes' leading scorer in every game. She received no college attention, no offers. - Kilgore resigns baseball post at ABAC
