TIFTON — Tift County Schools Superintendent Patrick Atwater informed the Gazette late Tuesday night that schools will be open Wednesday, for now.
In a telephone text, Atwater said the school system will make contact with the EMS early Wednesday morning to make a final decision, but as of Tuesday night, school will be in session.
As of 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, there was an official report of 3.38 inches of rain at the Coastal Plain Experiment Station.
That is on top of the 3.15 inches that were officially reported Monday.
There have been reports of much more rain throughout the Tiftarea, however.
