WEST BERRIEN COMMUNITY —
Mildred Lois Conger Musselwhite, 86, of West Berrien, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Berrien County. The Rev. Leonard Conger and the Rev. Herman Walker will officiate with burial to follow at Oakey Grove Church Cemetery in Berrien County.
Matthew Hoffacker, Brent Hoffacker, Jesse Carpenter, Justin Carpenter, Whit Carpenter and Cal Carpenter will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Musselwhite will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Musselwhite was born Nov. 30, 1925 in Berrien County and was the daughter of John Thomas Conger and Janie Wilson Conger, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Noah Thomas Musselwhite Jr.; four brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren, Elaine Sumler and Michael Willis. She was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Berrien County.
Mrs. Musselwhite is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Sandra Marchant Musselwhite of Tifton, Daniel and Janice Parrish Musselwhite of Mystic and Johnny and Wanda Burnett Musselwhite of Nashville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty Kennedy of Tifton, Joyce and Randy Willis of Tifton and Mildred "Millie" and Ken Kroboth of Rochester, N.Y.; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Janelle Conger of Valdosta; one sister-in-law, Mae Dell Conger of Willacoochee; 15 grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa and Cal Carpenter, Lisa and Trey McKee, Kimberly and Darren Dillard, Tina and Bill McGrath, Sherri and Travis Bennett, Stephen and Liz Musselwhite, Becky Musselwhite, Miranda Musselwhite, Melanie Hall, Missy and Jeremy French, Brad Willis, Melissa and Wayne McGill, Matthew and Rebecca Hoffacker, Heather and Ritchie Rich and Brent Hoffacker; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Tiftarea-Tattnall split
The quarterfinals series between the Tiftarea Academy Panthers and defending state Class AAA champions Tattnall Square Trojans matched up two of the top teams in the state and after two games, the battle has been a stalemate. The Trojans won the first game 4-1, while the Panthers took game two, 6-3. Game three will be today at 2 p.m.
