ALAPAHA —
Mary "Molly" Brogdon, 87, of Alapaha died Monday June 25, 2012 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Open Door Mission with the Rev. Kenny Greenway officiating. Interment will follow at Glory Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service.
She was born April 15, 1925 in Berrien County to the late Isom Swilley and the late Mary Sherrod. She was a homemaker and retired administrator for Open Door School. She was a member of the Open Door Mission in Alapaha, and was the widow of John Lucious Brogdon.
She is survived by two sisters, Tonnie White of West Green and Betty Buttram of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Billy Bruce and Jimmy Bruce, both of Tampa, Fla.
Flowers are asked to be omitted and at her request, memorials be made to Open Door Mission at 123 Open Door School Road, Alapaha, Ga. 31622.
Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville is in charge of arrangements.

“Keep calm and stop the violence,” “Save our streets” and “No more violence” were the words echoed by Eighth Street Middle School students early Tuesday morning as they stood in front of the school behind caution tape and orange cones, shouting and holding up signs as they waved at passing motorists who smiled and returned the gesture.
