Juanita Aylor Cox, 84, of Tifton died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center in Lakeland. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Beginnings Worship Center in Enigma. The Rev. Pat Suggs will officiate with burial to be held at a later date at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday at New Beginnings Worship Center immediately following the service.
Ms. Cox was born June 8, 1928 in Paint Rock, Texas and was the daughter of John Thomas Aylor and Sofronia Lee Aylor, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters. She worked as a housekeeper from 1964 until 2003 and attended New Beginnings Worship Center in Enigma.
Ms. Cox is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard and Vickie Cox of Brookfield, John W. Cox Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Glen and Cindy Cox of Louisville, Ky. and Robert Cox of Placerville, Calif.; one daughter, Dolores Bradley of Brookfield; three sisters, Martha Tate of California, Elizabeth Graves and Loretta Holmes, both of Texas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Tift County almost pulled off an incredible feat this year, having two teams in the baseball quarterfinals.. It was a great year for baseball at all area schools, all eight of them in the postseason. Both Kyle Kirk's Tift County Blue Devils and Brad Porter's Tiftarea Academy Panthers came within an eyelash of doing even better: the final four.
