Raymond Leland Frazier, 86, of Ty Ty died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Ty Ty. The Rev. Jim Duggan and the Rev. Randall LaRoche will officiate with burial to follow at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery. Lee Frazier, John Domogala, Randall LaRoche, Bobby Lovette, Ronnie Mobley, Ray Lovette and Noah Frazier will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of the First Baptist Church in Ty Ty and members of the Ready Men Sunday school class of
First Baptist Church in Ty Ty. Mr. Frazier will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Frazier was born on April 13, 1926 in Worth County and was the son of Eddie Jackson Frazier and Betty Conger Frazier, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother and five sisters. He was a farmer and a deacon and member of the First Baptist Church in Ty Ty. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 and was granted an Honorable Discharge. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved camping, spending time at the lake and teaching his grandchildren how to ski. His family remembers him as "an all-around family man".
Mr. Frazier is survived by his wife of 68 years, Susie Mae McCrary Frazier of Ty Ty; one daughter, Joyce Frazier Lovette of Callahan, Fla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leland and Lisa Frazier of Ty Ty and Royce and Denise Frazier of Tifton; one brother, Russell Frazier of Brunswick; one sister, Grace Lawhorn of Ty Ty; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty, 157 North Church Street, Ty Ty, GA 31795; or Southern Care Hospice, 412 First Street, SE, Moultrie, GA 31768.
