Local man, juvenile charged with armed robbery

TIFTON — A Tifton man and juvenile were arrested Sunday, and both were charged with robbing three individuals at a residence on Ponce De Leon Street.

Maj. Bobby Brannen at the Tift County Sheriff’s Office said an armed robbery was reported to the department between 10 and 11 a.m. Sunday. He said three occupants of the residence were robbed by two black males armed with handguns. He said a male occupant was struck in the face with the handgun by the suspects. The man was treated at the scene by Tift County Emergency Medical Services.

Brannen said a small amount of cash was taken by the suspects. He said the suspects were developed and identified and arrested later on Sunday.

Eric Jarnard Green, 19, of 112 Robin St. and a 16-year-old juvenile have been charged with three counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault.

Brannen said Green is being held in the Tift County Jail; no bond has been set. The juvenile is being held in a youth detention center.

Sgt. Cliff Henderson handled the investigation, along with deputies Zach Steed and Luke Jordan.
