OCILLA —
Nichole Harper, 18, of Ocilla, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 in Irwin County, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla, with the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Brushy Creek Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Nichole was born May 12, 1994 in Tifton to Tony Harper and Psyche Pope. She was a 2012 graduate of Berrien High School, where she played trumpet in the band. She also played softball for the rec league. She attended Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Psyche Pope and friend, Wayne Hobby of Abbeville; her father, Tony and Crystal Harper of Nashville; her sister, Dene Harper of Ocilla; her brother, Aubrey Harper of Nashville; sisters, Ivy Harper and Kaylee Eubanks, both of Nashville, as well as Christen and Stephanie Sutton, both of Fitzgerald; her grandparents, Barbara and Ottis Harper of Ocilla, Janet and Steve Sheppard of Fitzgerald and Jimmy and Melodie Vowell of Nashville; and great-grandparents, Lora Harper of Ocilla and Audrey Cyr of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Terry Pope, and great-grandfathers: Herbert Shealey, David Cyr and John Aubrey Harper.
The family suggests those desiring to send memorials may send them to the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes, P.O. Box 1000, Stockbridge, GA 30281.
Paulk Funeral Home of Ocilla is in charge of arrangements.

Ernie Banks used to say, "let's play two." In a game that was as long as two and was defined early on by errors and later by a pitching duel, it would be offense that propelled the Tattnall Square Trojans past the Tiftarea Academy Panthers, 6-2 in 14 innings. Tattnall, who won the first game of the series, 4-1 before dropping game two, 6-3, will meet Mount de Sales in the Class AAA semifinals next week.
