Francisca “Francis” Cruz Marin, 74, of Tifton, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. today at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church with Father Justin Ferguson officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church following the funeral mass today.
Born March 8, 1938, in Donna, Texas, to the late Jose Maria Cruz and Petra Camacho Cruz, Mrs. Marin was also preceded in death by her husband, Sergio Marin Sr.; one brother, Donaciano Cruz; and one grandson, Gilbert Perez Jr.
Mrs. Marin, formerly of Weslaco, Texas, had lived in Tifton for 20 years. She retired from Wal-Mart where she was a sales clerk in the fabric department. Mrs. Marin enjoyed sewing, crafts, making jewelry, dancing, music, shopping and going to garage sales. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Spanish soap operas and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Marin attended Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church.
Mrs. Marin is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse Marin and Tony Marin, both of Dallas, Texas; Ricky and Elsie Marin of Bellingham, Wash.; Sergio Jr., and Janie Marin of Weslaco, Texas; and Paul and Esmer Marin of Edcouch, Texas; her daughters and sons-in-law, Minnie and Gilbert Perez Sr.; Rosie and Armando Espinoza, all of Ty Ty; Ana and Jon Eberle of Dallas, Texas, Dayvia Marin of Tifton and Diane and Jaime Rodriguez of Ty Ty; her brother, Jose Cruz of Kingfisher, Okla.; her sisters, Mila Silva of Donna, Texas, Josefina Modesto of Yukon, Okla., and Mary Helen Gomez and Petra Garcia, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
