TIFTON —
A Ty Ty man was shot and killed Saturday night, and officials are searching for a suspect, 32-year-old Adrian Lamar Golson, Mark Pro, assistant special agent in charge at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation office in Sylvester, said.
Pro told The Gazette Monday morning that Arlester Jackson Jr., 35, of Ty Ty was found in a vacant lot behind a residence in the 4600 block of Highway 82 West in Ty Ty. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pro declined to go into detail about the shooting; however, he did state that apparently there was an argument between Jackson and the alleged suspect, Golson, in which the suspect then produced a weapon and shot Jackson.
He said neighbors called in the incident between 10 and 10:20 p.m. Saturday.
Pro stated that they have arrest warrants for Golson, who could possibly be in the Ty Ty, Tifton or Worth County areas.
As of presstime Monday, Golson was still at large.
The GBI and Tift County Sheriff’s Office are investigating this case. Anyone with information on Golson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the TCSO at 388-6020 or the GBI office in Sylvester at 777-2080.

May 21 Column – George F. Will
Leaving aside the seriousness of lawlessness, and the corruption of our civic culture by the professionally pious, this past week has been amusing. There was the spectacle of advocates of an ever-larger regulatory government expressing shock about such government's large capacity for misbehavior.
