TIFTON — George Gibbs Martin, 78, of Tifton died March 11, 2013 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Linda F. Martin; two daughters, Pam Wedenfellow and Julie Jimmerson; two stepdaughters, Tanya Jordan and Evonne Harris; a son, Michael Martin; and a stepson, Nathan Gabel. Arrangements for the Martin family are under the care and direction of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Unfortunately, so do identity thieves. They set up machines called skimmers on gas pumps and ATMs that are designed to fool you and benefit them. The devices read your debit or credit card and record the number, which the thief can collect by retrieving the skimmer or even remotely using a smartphone and a wireless Internet connection. Imagine a player averaging 29 points per game for a career and receiving no college scholarship offers. That happened to Dona Fields.
