TIFTON —
The Tift County Lady Devils tennis team defeated the Colquitt County Lady Packers Wednesday night 3-2, but the Devils fell to the Packers, 4-1.
For the Lady Devils, No. 1 singles S.K. Bowen defeated Conley Ward 6-0, 6-0, No. 2 singles Taylor Whitehead defeated Coutney Terrell 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) and No. 1 doubles Heather Sattler and Rebekah Crumley defeated Trebony and Radney 7-6(7-5), 6-1.
The Devils got a win from No. 2 singles Chase Griffin, who defeated his opponet 6-0, 6-2.
Both teams will be at home next Wednesday against Irwin Countyat 4:00pm

“Keep calm and stop the violence,” “Save our streets” and “No more violence” were the words echoed by Eighth Street Middle School students early Tuesday morning as they stood in front of the school behind caution tape and orange cones, shouting and holding up signs as they waved at passing motorists who smiled and returned the gesture.
