Blue Devils advance to region title game

TIFTON — William Shakespeare once talked of revenge being a dish best served cold.

Well on a chilly night in Valdosta, the Tift County Blue Devils avenged their only basketball loss in the state of Georgia this season with a 79-50 win over the Coffee High Trojans. The win puts the Devils in the Region 1-AAAAAA championship contest tonight at 8:30 against Brunswick.

Tift started out fast and never slowed down. The Devils led 49-19 at the half, and 71-29 at the end of the third quarter. The fourh was played with "mercy rules" and Tift cruised to the win.

Playing basically only a half Brannen Greene led Tift in scoring with 20 points. Donell Tuff added 12, and Tadric Jackson had 10.
