TIFTON — Students in teacher Alex Raymond's second grade class at Annie Belle Clark Primary School received a special visit from an American hero recently. Student Colton Copeland's brother, Aaron Smith, who just graduated from boot camp and became an official member of the United States Marine Corps, came to see the class. While he was in boot camp, the class wrote him letters. During his visit he answered many questions from the second graders and read a story to the class. Raymond said Smith was a wonderful, special visitor.

County millage rate remains same
Tift County Commissioners voted unanimously in a called meeting Tuesday to keep the millage rate set at 12.183 for both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
