HOWELL —
Bennie Singletary, 77, of Howell, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 in the South Georgia Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 23, 1934 in Lanier County to the late Amos Singletary and the late Claudie Ellen Hall. He was retired from Levi Strauss as a garment cutter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Morgan, who died in 2007; his stepmother, Lillie Velma Kent Singletary; and three sisters, Mary Alice Moore, Patsy Gray and Betty Luke.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Sirmans Singletary of Howell; one son, Dennis Singletary of Howell; son-in-law, Jeffery Morgan of Howell; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Shirley Brown of McRae; and two brothers, Elton Singletary of Adel and Donnie Singletary of Hinesville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today in the Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Matthews and the Rev. Donnie Sloan officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville, is in charge of arrangements.
