Millie Hill Bryan, 88, of Ashburn died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Perry Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Bryan is survived by her children, James Robert Bryan of Chula, Eddie Joe Bryan of Ashburn and Vickie Wilson of Rebecca; and a brother, James D. Hill of Ringgold. Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn is in charge of arrangements.
James Marshall, 60, of Ray City died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at Berrien County Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville.

Leaving aside the seriousness of lawlessness, and the corruption of our civic culture by the professionally pious, this past week has been amusing. There was the spectacle of advocates of an ever-larger regulatory government expressing shock about such government's large capacity for misbehavior. And, entertainingly, the answer to the question "Will Barack Obama's scandals derail his second-term agenda?" was a question: What agenda?
