VALDOSTA —
Jane Duren, 69, of Valdosta, formerly of Brookfield and Adel, died Tuesday, May 22, at her daughter’s residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Boone Funeral Home, Hwy. 41 South, Adel, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel.
Born Feb. 13, 1943, in Anniston, Ala., Mrs. Duren was the daughter of Grady Turner and Essie Mae Angel Turner, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. “Bud” Duren; four brothers, Harold Turner, Walter Turner, Wallace Turner and Douglas Turner; and two sisters, Mary Jo Turner and Martha Turner.
She lived most of her life in Cook and Tift counties and was retired from Memorial Convalescent Center in Adel and Southern Care Retirement Home in Tifton. She was a member of Adel Church of God and attended Greater Life of Tifton.
Mrs. Duren is survived by one son, Tony Duren of Whitesberg, Ky.; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Rodney Maluda of Valdosta; five brothers, James Turner of Anniston, Ala., Charles Turner of Eldorado, Jerry Turner of Rochelle, Fred Turner of Heflin, Ala., and Bobby Turner of Eldorado; her grandchildren, Talarie and John Hayes of Thomasville and Magan Harris of Valdosta; and her great-grandchildren, Braiden Lamont of Valdosta and Natalie Hayes of Thomasville.
Boone Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
